Oystercatcher eggs
How exciting! Our friends at the Oystercatcher Trail posted this photo on Facebook. It shows a recently-hatched egg of the African oystercatcher (Haematopus moquini), which nests on our shores. Please be extra careful when visiting the beaches now. Precious eggs.
New gas stove
Our kitchen has been updated to now boast a gas stove and oven. Guests are still able to cook a meal or make coffee even during loadshedding. We look forward to hosting you.
Western Cape Butterfly Sanctuary
What a wonderful addition to the Garden Route! The new Western Cape Butterfly Sanctuary at Ruiterbosch (between Mossel Bay and Oudtshoorn) is a great place to visit while staying at Fonteintjies.
The ocean is calling

Bees and Honey
